My cheap beach umbrella needed an upgrade. It kept blowing away and I would have to chase after it. I decided to design a sand anchor after a few designs I saw online. I designed it in solidworks and the print took about 4 hours. The design functionally worked great! I’ve used it at the beach about 4 or 5 times already in varying wind conditions. Future improvements will probably include a threaded hole for a knob to hold the umbrella’s pole in place and a handle to screw down the anchor. I need to work out creating threads on the 3d printer I have.
